Wraight ConsultingLimited

Independent IT and platform consultancy

Technology that fits your business.

From the systems you use every day to the cloud platforms your engineers build on, we provide the technical expertise to keep things running and help you move forward.

Services

Everyday systems, and the platforms underneath them.

Good IT isn't just about having the right technology. It's about understanding the people and the business behind it. We build long-term relationships with our clients, so we can give better advice, respond quickly and solve the problems that actually matter.

Workplace

The systems you rely on every day, looked after properly.

Ongoing

Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace

Tenants, licences, mailboxes, shared drives and groups, administered properly on either platform, or on both at once while you finish moving between them.

Joiners & leavers

Accounts and access

New starters set up in minutes rather than afternoons, with the right access from day one. Leavers closed down properly: access revoked, mailbox retained, nothing left open behind them.

Ongoing

Filtering and security

Smoothwall web filtering, multi-factor authentication and conditional access, configured and monitored. Documented so you have something to hand an insurer, an auditor or a safeguarding inspection.

On request

Audits and investigations

Who accessed what, and when, answered from the audit log. Whether that's a departing employee downloading files on their last afternoon, or a board asking for assurance in writing.

Platform

The infrastructure and delivery pipelines underneath whatever you're building.

Project work

Cloud infrastructure

Azure, AWS and GCP built as code with Terraform. What's running is documented and repeatable, and every change can be read, approved and rolled back like any other piece of engineering.

Project work

CI/CD and delivery

Build and deployment pipelines that run the same way every time, with the tests, approvals and rollbacks that make a release routine.

Ongoing

DevOps and reliability

Monitoring that pages a human only when a human is needed, alerting thresholds that hold up, and a clear account afterwards of what broke, why, and what stops it happening again.

Project work

Internal tools and automation

Small, purpose-built web apps that put routine jobs like creating a user or resetting a password directly in the hands of your own staff, with no scripting knowledge needed.

Who we work with

We keep the client list short.

It's what lets us learn how your organisation actually works, and remember it between calls.

Organisations without an IT department

Where Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace is the IT estate, we become the team that looks after it. Your staff get their time back for the work they were actually hired to do.

Specialism

Education

Schools, trusts, independent providers and alternative provision, including SEND settings. Our Managing Director spent a decade in schools, latterly as a Director of Safeguarding. So when we set up filtering or produce a monitoring report, we know what the person receiving it has to do with it.

Engineering and IT teams

An extra pair of hands on a migration or a platform build, and an experienced second opinion when you want an architecture reviewed before you commit to it.

Education, in detail

Schools run to a calendar, so the work does too.

Many of our workplace clients are schools, trusts and alternative provision. Every sector has a rhythm, but education's is unusually sharp: three hundred people need to log in on the same morning, and that morning doesn't move. This is the year we plan around, so term starts the way it should.

How it works

A monthly contract, or a fixed-term project.

A monthly contract

We agree a number of hours each month and work to them: the day-to-day administration, the busy periods you already know are coming, and someone who picks up when you call. You're calling a person who knows your setup, not logging a ticket. We don't run a 24-hour service desk.

It's how most of our clients work with us, and it suits organisations running several sites or brands on one tenant. There's no minimum term.

Peak and off-peak hours

Your monthly hours are split between normal working hours and everything outside them. The two are priced differently, and most contracts weight the allowance towards off-peak.

That suits the work. Tenant changes, migrations and rebuilds go better when nobody is trying to log in, so that's when we do them.

When a month runs over

Unused hours don't roll over, and some months bring something bigger than the allowance: a migration, an investigation, a piece of work nobody saw coming. That time is invoiced separately from the monthly fee.

You won't get a surprise invoice. Either you ask us for the extra work, or we tell you before we start that it's about to take you past your hours. The decision is yours either way.

Fixed-term projects

A migration, a tenant tidy-up, a platform build, a pipeline rebuild, or a tool made to fit how your office actually works. Also the smaller one-offs: an audit, an investigation, an architecture review, or a second opinion on something an existing supplier has proposed.

Scoped and quoted up front, with a defined end. These run with or without a monthly contract alongside them.

Either way

We're deliberately small, which means you get to work with people who know you back. The people you talk to are the people doing the work, and the knowledge we build about your business stays with us.

There's no account manager in between, no support queue to join, and no need to explain your setup again each time you get in touch.

Tell us what you're running, and where you'd like it to get to.
